After every flight, pilots complete a gripe sheet which conveys to the mechanics problems encountered with the aircraft during the flight that need correction or repair.

Below, for the week of 11/4/02, is a Gripe Sheet from UAL (SFO)

P = The problem loggerd by the Pilot\
S = Repair or correction completed by the Mechanics

P: Something loose in cockpit
S: Something tightened in the cockpit

P: Dead bugs on windshield
S: Live bugs on order

P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear
S: Evidence removed.

p: Friction locks are causing the throttle levers to stick
S: That's what they're there for.

P: Number 3 engine missing
S: After brief search, found engine on right wing

P: Aircraft handles funny
S: Issued warning to aircraft to straighten up, fly riight, and be
serious.

P: Target radar hums
s: Reprogrammed target radar with words

p: Mouse in cockpit
S: Installed cat.

Recently a controller at the San Jose International Airport transmitted the following message to an American Airlines pilot who high, hot and long on final:

American 9er57 on final, if able exit end of runway -- if unable, take the Guadalupe Exit off the 101, turn right at the first stop light and return to the airport.
