I am looking out my window............

Post by Matt » Sun Dec 21, 2003 10:05 am

And I see about 1'' of fresh snow overnight........so I turned on the Christmas lights ! This California Boy is gonna have his first White Christmas.

The sun is out, and it is a perfect 39 degees F at Copper Chase, by the Kraftfam instruments.

The roads look great from here ! C'mon get up here while the gettin' is good !

Four Wheel Drive or Chains

Post by Matt » Sun Dec 21, 2003 6:39 pm

As of about 6:30 pm, 12/21/2003
Chains or 4-WD only.

There were a couple people off the road today/tonight.

I responded to the page as a Brian Head Firefighter tonight to go hold/direct traffic while the good men of the Brian Head Marshalls office assisted snow-banked motorists. They then escorted the slightly ( 1/2 hour) delayed motorists down the hill. No injuries.

There should be a plough in operation in the am.

Drive safely.

Better Keep the Harley In the Garage

Post by Scott » Sun Dec 21, 2003 11:59 pm

Well Matt, it sounds like I'd better keep the Harley in the Garage. 4WD sounds like the best bet. If the school bus can make the Grade, we KNOW we can. Looks like it is going to be an awesome Christmas in Brian Head.

Roads at 11:40pm Thursday

Post by Scott » Thu Dec 25, 2003 10:43 pm

The plows stopped an hour or so ago, and we have had at least 3 or 4 inches since then. Driving from one side of the town to the other .... tire tracks were covered. 4-wheel drive was the ONLY thing that kept us going.

I will post more in the morning.

Looking out the window, the roads have snow on them but the plows are running. It has stopped snowing.
