Jimmy breaks 10 year State record in the Mile.

Post by Scott » Wed Mar 26, 2003 9:48 am

Tuesday evening, 3/25/03, Jimmy broke the 10 year Nevada State record in the Mile. Jimmy ran the mile in 4:20 flat lapping other runners and sending the crowed into a frenzy. After he crossed the finish line he was mobbed by his adoring fans.

During the race, as Jimmy ran, 20 team mates and friends put on custom made tee shirts asking Chelsea to go to the Prom with Jimmy if he won. Chelsea was given her own tee shirt with boxes to check "YES" or "NO". She checked "YES" as fast as she could get to the pen. Unfortunately she had to leave shortly after the race and missed her flower bouquet.

I'm so glad I could be there to see it. It was a Tri-Meet with three schools. All the kids were focused and gave good effort. But even from the bleachers (we crashed the in-field later) You could tell Jimmy was in a class by himself. Really special. Great job Jim !

tuesday, i watched jimmy run a 4:20 mile in which he had the whole team ask me to prom. isn't he so romantic. matt and scott were there helping me cheer him on. (he didn't need much help everyone was going wild as he crossed the finish line.) i can't wait to come to your next race and see you run in those cute little shorts of yours. i sure hope jim keeps me around a while! he is a really great guy. hey justin...so you'll be a freshman in college? i wasn't sure if you were talking freshman in high school. help me understand. you don't look a day past nine! no hard feelings. good job jim. i didn't expect anything but the best from you anyhow. i'm so proud of you. Happiness~~~chels
