New Webcams are up and running.
Three (3) new webcams have been added to http://www.kraftfam.com as follows:
"Kraftfam-6" has a close up view of the Giant Steps Basin showing chairs 2, 3 & 7 (including the peak).
"Kraftfam-16" shows the entire Giant Steps area, all lifts including the peak from a distance (good for viewing the current weather conditions)
"Kraftfam-7" shows traffic on Ridgeview Dr. in front of the Copper Chase condominiums as well as a close up view of all traffic into and out of the lower Copper Chase condominium driveway/garage.
Each of these cameras can be viewed in various modes depending on your user level. For example:
1) Manual update requires you to HIT the REFRESH button below the image to update the picture.
2) Auto update allows you to view a live image updated at between 1 and 12 frames per second depending on your user level and connection speed (i.e. full motion live video feed). In this mode, you can see skiers/boarders as well as the chair lifts moving. At night you can see the snow cats grooming the slopes (headlights only).
3) Time Lapse allows you to view images taken at either 1 hour, 1/2 hour or 15 minute increments (user selectable) between 9:00am and 5:00pm in the past 24 hours. Good for showing weather patterns and developing conditions. These images are displayed on a full function viewer with many user selectable options.
The Kraft Family has also made the "Kraftfam-6" camera available to the Ski Resort and the Brian Head Town and can be viewed at http://www.brianhead.com.
Please post any problems, concerns or issues regarding these cameras in this forum.

Aloha from Hawaii. Just wanted to comend this fabulous website that includes the live camera views from Brian Head. My family will be there during the weekend before Christmas and are so excited and especially with the ability to see how the snow is progressing. KEEP up the awesome Job! BTW, we'll be driving from Las Vegas and being from Hawaii not sure what to expect on the driving conditions. Will snow chains be required?

Driving from Las Vegas
The drive is between 3 and 3.5 hours. The roads are plowed very well. Hwy 14 which you will pickup after taking exit 75 at Parowan (off the 15), is plowed every hour. If it is snowing then chains and/or four-wheel drive is required by law.
There is a set of yellow lights shortly after you start up the mountain on Hwy 14 which if blinking will require you to have chains or four-wheel drive.
It is hit and miss, but generally if it is not snowing and has not been snowing for hours, the roads are clear and the mandatory chain lights are off.
It just snowed over 1 foot in that last 24 hours, and it is still snowing as I type. You are coming up at one of the best weeks of the season, and all indications are of some great skiing.
Maybe we will see you on the slopes. Most everyone knows us up there so we are hard to miss.
Good luck.

Chains in Parowan
Your cheapest best would be Walmart (first Cedar City Exit going North on Hwy 15).
In Parowan, Lloyds Automotive and tires, which will be on your right 1/4 mile off the freeway (exit 75) carries them but for a lot more $$ than Walmart.
Are you renting a car?

SNOW CHAINS *^#$*^$t)*#$@_$
Hey guys so it looks like it may clear up for the weekend. Whats your gut feeling on snow chains? I'd prefer not to get em but if you think it's necessary than just gonna have to scramble to get some in CC before we hit BH.
