Wow JimmY!!!!!
Dear Jimmy,
Congratulations to you and your team on your recent Marathon win. That is simply unbelievable. I couldn't walk in those conditions, much less run. Your hard work is really paying off, as hard work usually does. Good for you and your persistence and perserverance. We in California are busting with pride over your accomplishment! You've raised the family to a new level. Thank you!!:)
Love ya, Aunt Margie

thank you
Hey Grandma,
It's good to hear from you. It's nice to know that even though I live on my own with a friend, that I have such a great support system and such a great family. I hope that next time I race in California that you might have a chance to see me. I am going for a first place at state in the mile this year. My personal record in the mile is a 4:28 and I hope to run a 4:22 before the season is up and before I run in college. I'm glad to see you on the forums.
Love,
Jim:nice:

Arcadia ...
That is NOT in Northern California. Do you have any Northern California races coming up? I am sure the whole family would show up ... and Matt would bring the beer!

Where is Arcadia?
You're right, Scott, we need a Northern California meet and we'll turn it into a family reunion. I'm sure Barb would contribute Tequila. I'll bring Zippies!

Zippies
I'll post recipe as soon as I find it. Ingredients are cheddar cheese, hamburger, onions, green olives with pimiento if kids like them, tomato sauce or paste, french rolls or sweet rolls, whichever you prefer (I prefer french but they can get kinda hard - but taste better. Only thing to remember: You put the cheese in last, after you've browned the hamburger and onions and made the sauce - you turn off the heat and just let the cheese melt, otherwise it will curdle if you "cook" it. I'll give amounts when I find recipe.
Had new window installed in kitchen corner over sink today. Looks nice. Granite coming in Wednesday. If it's ugly, I'll sell the house and move in with you. Of course, you're praying that it will be ugly so you can see your mommy more. Well, at least I make good zippies and great yorkshire pudding.

Never seen Granite we don't like.
I am sure it will look great, and better than that idea of putting a fake island in your family room / kitchen ... major waste of space .... never quite grasped that idea ... but glad you decided to spend the money on Granite. We went with fake Granite in the Las Vegas condo ... can only tell the difference if you know what real Granite is ... we don't ... so we like it!
Thinking that the fake stuff is real ... your's will probably look fake to us ... its all relative ... but we're cheap so there was really no choice.
We decided to follow Barbs lead and change out artwork each season. At first I thought she was nuts, but after doing it twice now ... we like it. Unlike Barb we do not have a secure storage area to put the "in limbo artwork" in. We just throw the old stuff out ... not to be extravagant ... but because the kids generate the stuff so fast we don't need it.
